The University of Malaya Centre for Continuing Education (UMCCed) invites Malaysian citizens with qualifications and work experience in related fields to fill vacancies of the following position at UMCCed:
POSITION : LECTURER
EMPLOYMENT TYPE : CONTRACT (FULL-TIME)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching in Diploma programmes offered by UMCCed in the following areas of specialisation:

• Management
• Business
• Information Systems
• Finance
• Law
• Human Resource 

Requirements:

Candidates must have :

• at least a Bachelor’s Degree in the area of specialisation from higher educational institutions recognised by the Malaysian Government, or its equivalent recognised qualification ; and
• an appropriate teaching experience and/or relevant work experience in related industry for at least 2 years

 Additional Requirements:

• A good command in the English language
• Experience in curriculum development and some knowledge in procedures and processes of accreditation required by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)
• Some experience in carrying out research in related areas of specialisation
• Good interpersonal relationship with students with commitment towards student welfare

CLINICAL INVESTIGATION CENTRE

Clinical Investigation Centre is a dedicated unit for conducting clinical trials in University Malaya Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur; a 1,000 bed referral centre and Malaysia’s premier teaching hospital. 

RESEARCH FELLOW

Responsibilities:

• Establish networking with Pharmaceutical and Biotech Industries as well as other institutions for the purpose of research and innovation
• Oversees the overall clinical operations related to trial conduct.
• Maintains communication with Medical Ethics Committee (MEC) and takes lead in reporting adverse events, protocol deviations, safety reports, and other items as directed by ICH guidelines and MEC.
• Serves as a focal point for communication between Site and Sponsor.
• Develops reporting mechanism for bringing critical and high priority issues to the Investigators, Sponsors, and/or Monitors. Requirements:
•  Requirements: MBBS or equivalent from a recognized institution.
•  Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with ability to work with people at all levels and a team player.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision and under pressure.
• Experience in clinical research related work will be an added advantage.
• To serve the unit for a minimum of 3 years (on contract basis)

Jawatan Kosong Universiti Malaya (UM)

The University of Malaya derives its name from the term 'Malaya' as the country was then known. The Carr-Saunders Commission, which recommended the setting up of the university, noted in its Report in 1948: "The University of Malaya would provide for the first time a common centre where varieties of race, religion and economic interest could mingle in joint endeavour ... For a University of Malaya must inevitably realise that it is a university for Malaya." The growth of the University was very rapid during the first decade of its establishment and this resulted in the setting up of two autonomous Divisions in 1959, one located in Singapore and the other in Kuala Lumpur. In 1960, the government of the two territories indicated their desire to change the status of the Divisions into that of a national university. Legislation was passed in 1961 and the University of Malaya was established on 1st January 1962. On June 16th 1962, University of Malaya celebrated the installation of its first Chancellor, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, who was also the country's first prime minister. The first Vice-Chancellor was Professor Oppenheim, a world-renowned Mathematician. Currently, His Royal Highness The Sultan of Perak Darul Ridzuan is the Chancellor of the University of Malaya.
